Joulujuhla 2011 / Christmas Party 2011
Tämä oli jo meidän 5. joulujuhla. Brisbanen Suomi-koulu on toiminut vuoden 2007 alusta. On ihana nähdä paljon samoja lapsia jatkamassa, samalla toivotamme lämpimästi tervetulleeksi kaikki uudet tulokkaat. On todella hienoa, että on vielä vanhempia, jotka tuntevat tärkeäksi lasten suomen kielen- ja kulttuuritaidon.
This was already our 5th Christmas party. Brisbane Finnish School has been in operation since 2007. It is wonderful to see so many continuing students, at the same time we warmly welcome all the newcomers. It is really nice that so many parents find it important for their children to learn/maintain their Finnish language and culture.
Lapset istuivat lattialla matolla valmiina joulujuhlaan.
The children sat on the carpet ready for the Christmas party.
Petri sytytti kaikki adventtikynttilät.
Petri lit all the Advent candles.
Viimeiset luukut avattiin adventtikalenterista.
The last door were opened from the Advent calendar.
Näyttämön reunalla valmiina laulamaan uusia ja vanhoja joululauluja.

Jouluystäviä - vähän askartelua välillä, kun vanhemmat järjestivät ruoat pöytään.
Christmas friends - a bit of craft while parents organised the food onto the tables.
Lapset saavat lahjakassit ja osallistumistodistukset.
The children receive their bags of goodies and certificates of participation.
'Lumipallon' heittoa lumiukon mahaan.
Throwing 'snowballs' into the stomach of the snowman.
Pöydät notkuvat hyvistä jouluruoista, jotka vanhemmat olivat valmistaneet ja tuoneet kouluun.
The tables are full of delicious Christmas food, that the parents had prepared and brought to school.
Viimein ja vihdoin istuttiin nauttimaan ruoista ja hyvästä seurasta.
Finally sitting down to enjoy a delicious meal and good company.
Hyvää joulua ja onnellista uutta vuotta kaikille!

4. lukukaudella aloimme valmistelemaan joulua; opettelimme uusia joululauluja ('Joulupukki matkaan jo käy' ja 'No onkos tullut kesä'), juttelimme jouluperinteistä ja askartelimme.
During term 4 we started preparing for Christmas by learning new Christmas songs, talking about Christmas traditions and doing craft activities.
